Trenitalia reserves the following benefits for Italians living abroad and registered with AIRE

possibility of purchasing Trenitalia Pass to visit Italy
The concessions are valid for travel until December 31, 2024.
Please note that when checking tickets on board the train, you will have to show the registry card obtainable from the Fast It Portal or your AIRE registration certificate. This can be requested from one’s municipality of enrollment or through SPID or CIE, for compatriots who have it, by accessing the services area of the municipality of enrollment.

Special event offer
For all A.I.R.E. members, the “Special Events” offer allows you to purchase train tickets for services within the Italian territory with the Variable discount from 20% to 80% than the full Base price, in 1st and 2nd class, in Business, Premium and Standard service levels on Frecciarossa, Frecciargento and Frecciabianca trains. Executive service level and parlor service are excluded. The offer can be purchased until midnight of the second day prior to train departure, online, on the Trenitalia App, at ticket offices and authorized travel agencies.
The number of seats available for bidding is limited and varies, depending on days, trains and class or level of service.
At the time of purchase, the system always proposes the most advantageous price available.

- select “see more offers” and, in the relevant drop-down menu in the “Offer” section, choose “Special Events”
- enter the code “AIRE” in the “Agreement Code” space
- select “Confirm”
- carries out the same procedure for the return journey.
It is possible to exchange names with other AIRE-registered individuals free of charge, an unlimited number of times from the day of issuance until the departure of the booked train. After the train departs, changing is no longer allowed. In case of access to train other than the booked one, the traveler will be considered and regularized as having no ticket.
40% reduction for groups
Trenitalia grants Italians living abroad registered with AIRE the opportunity to purchase train tickets for travel within Italy for groups of at least ten people with a 40% reduction on the Base adult fare. The reduction is allowed only in 1st and 2nd class and in Business, Premium and Standard service levels of Frecciarossa, Frecciargento and Frecciabianca trains in domestic service. Executive service level and parlor service are excluded.
The request should be submitted with passenger list and copies of AIRE registration certificates by e-mail to the Frecciarossa Group Offices at least eight days in advance of departure:

The discount is applied according to seat availability, limited by day, train, class or level of service, and cannot be combined with any other different types of offers and/or promotions that may be offered by Trenitalia on the same products and for the same routes, with the exception of the one provided in favor of children. In the case of groups consisting of adult and youth travelers, there must be at least one adult. In any case, the minimum tariffs provided for each category of train are subject to.
One free reservation change is allowed up to one hour after the departure of the reserved train:
- prior to departure at any Trenitalia Ticket Office, Trenitalia Group Offices, Travel Agencies or at www.trenitalia.com;
- after departure only at the Ticket Office located at the train departure station indicated on the ticket.
Ticket exchange is allowed only once until midnight of the fifth day before the departure of the booked train at any Trenitalia Ticket Office and Trenitalia Group Offices. Reimbursement with 20% deduction is allowed up to midnight of the fifth day before the departure of the booked train. In case of access to train other than the booked one, the traveler will be considered and regularized as having no ticket.
Purchase of Trenitalia pass
The Trenitalia Pass is a product that allows you to visit Italy with Frecce and FrecciaLink, choosing between two passes (Easy or Comfort)and selecting the number of trips between 3, 4, 7 or 10 and the type of passenger between Adult, Senior and Youth. The sale of the Trenitalia Pass is extended to Italian citizens living abroad who are duly registered with AIRE. The Trenitalia Pass can be purchased for travel until Dec. 31, 2024 at www.trenitalia.com, ticket offices, travel agencies, and foreign and Italian tour operators.
